Tournament Rules
Misinterpretation/Misconfiguration.
Games and matches are not to be replayed due to a misinterpretation of the rules OR misconfiguration of game settings.
Game settings should be configured according to “GAME SETTINGS” established above.
It is the players’ responsibility to ask staff for any clarification of the rule set.
In the event of a disagreement, the outcome of a game, or set, will not be changed after the fact unless under extreme circumstances.
Example: No stocks were lost and...
...controller is drifting.
...the default controller settings were selected by mistake (see Rule 7).
Judgment reserved for tournament staff.
Winner will be determined by stocks.
In-game Sudden Death will not determine winner.
If tied by stock, winner will be determined by lowest Total damage percentage taken.
If tied by damage taken, winner will be determined by highest Total damage percentage given.
In the rare event of a tie in stock and percentages, players will play a match with the same game settings except:
One stock & 3 minutes.
Character Selection:
Players will select their character and skin of their choice (DLCs are allowed if available).
In the event of players wanting the same skin, a "coin flip" will determine who gets the skin.
In the event that both players cannot choose a character, players will each choose two characters to be randomly selected by "coin flip."
Pausing will be strictly forbidden.
Glitches & Rule Breaking
In the event of a glitch or broken rule during the match, tournament officials will provide rule and/or clarification for said circumstances.
In the event of a glitch or system malfunction the match will be replayed pending tournament staff decision.
Stalling
Intentionally making the game unplayable for both players, is banned and at the discretion of tournament staff.
Stalling includes, but is not limited to:
Becoming invisible by glitch,
Continuing infinites past 400%,
Reaching a position that your opponent can never reach.
Stalling will result in a forfeit of the game for the player that initiated the action.
If both players remain idle, then tournament staff will make a decision.
A player who repeatedly dodges, jumps, or runs around is NOT considered stalling.
Controllers:
Default controller settings will be No Stick-Jump.
Changing to individual controller settings must be done prior to the start of the match.
A judgment call needs to be made prior to the even on whether controllers with extra features are allowed.
For Example:
Turbo feature, Macros, Extra Buttons, etc.
Elimination:
A judgment call needs to be made prior to the even on whether it will be single match or best of three.
A judgment call needs to be made prior to the even on whether it will be double or single elimination.
Tardiness
Anyone who is not present for their set by 5 minutes past the scheduled start time is subject to a match loss.
Etiquette.
Players are to be competitive and respectful at all times.
There will be no profanity directed towards another participant and there will be no physical altercations between participants.
In the event of verbal abuse, the player who initiated the abuse will be disqualified and removed from the tournament.
In the event of a fight, both players will be disqualified.
Collusion.
Players suspected of colluding may be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
This includes intentionally throwing a game, bribing a participant in any way, or committing any other form of bracket manipulation.
Spamming.
Using the same move (repeatedly, multiple times) is allowed except where it conflicts with previous rules. For example:
If Modded Controller are not allowed, using macros or turbo is not allowed in accordance with Rule 7.
Luigi Ladder glitch not allowed in accordance with Rule 6.
Final Rulings.
If any unforeseen situations occur, judgment of Tournament Staff is final.
Rules may be altered between phases of a tournament in the best interests of the event.
Example:
A game breaking glitch is discovered on a stage mid tournament that could be exploited. Thus, the stage may need to be removed from legal play for the remainder of the event.

Instructions
DETAILS
All matches have to be played normally.
CPU vs Human not recommended but it could work.
Play the Initial 10 min. Match.
On completion, a new foe should appear.
If a new foe does not appear, start from step 2. Otherwise, continue to step 4.
Since some battles will be lost, at one point no more new characters will be unlocked.
If you did step 2 twice and no new foe appears, continue with the Missing Characters due to Battles Lost section.
Finish the new foe battle. Don't worry if you lost.
Wait for the Character Selection screen and do nothing.
Whether you Win or Lose, Close the game.
Press the home button: This will take you to the game selection screen with the SSBU selected.
Press the close button.
Using a Pro-Controller, or Dual Joycons: Press the X button.
Using Sideways-left Joycon: Press the up arrow button.
Using Sideways-right Joycon: Press sideways Y button.
Open the game again and start a Rapid 1:1 match.
On completion, a new foe should appear.
Continue with step 3.
MISSING CHARACTERS DUE TO BATTLES LOST
From the home menu, select Games & More.
A “Golden Door” will appear at the bottom-right.
Keep playing that door until it disappears.
This should complete all non-DLC characters.
EXAMPLE
Times to look for:
05:14 - 10min match ends and a new foe appears.
07:08 - New foe is defeated and the game is closed.
07:54 - After the game starts again, the 1 stock 1 min match starts and closing repeats.
