Tournament Settings

Single Elimination

Once a player or team is eliminated, they are out of the tournament. The 1st place is given to those who do not lose.

Double Elimination

When a player or team loses for the first time, they move to Consolation Rounds for a second chance at wining. Once they lose twice, they are out of the tournament. 1st place is given to those who lost none or only once.

Single Match

A single match winner may be determined by the number of lives/stocks, percentages, or time. In a racing game, for example, it is determined by who arrived first.

Best of X

The winner will be determined after X matches (most common is Best of 3). In a lives/stock round Best of 3, it can be determined that a player or team that wins the first two matches is automatically the winner without a 3rd match. In Mario Kart for example, it is Best of 4 where all 4 matches need to be played.

Squad Match

This is a stock/lives specific match.

The winner is determined when the other team has no players left.
